Subscribe to RSSBEIJING – Just in time for the Christmas season, when piggish habits make us all wonder how we’re going to carry around that new holiday weight, comes this story of one strong pig.
Hailing from China’s central Anhui province and born in July without its two hind legs, this two-legged wonder nicknamed “Strong Pig” has caused a stir online here with the strange walking technique it has adopted to get around the farm. Hiking its body almost 90 degrees up in the air, Strong Pig has learned to balance its over 66 pounds of pork on its two front legs and wobble around.
Impressed by the new-found porcine gait, Strong Pig’s owner has let the animal live freely on the farm and separately from the drove of pigs he keeps. He is also seeking someone who can adopt Strong Pig and give it a new home.
Now that’s one little piggy that won’t be going to the market.

I'll bet $10,000 that more people watched the two legged Beijing Pig video than watched the GOP debates.

The real story why he has 2 legs? When you have a talented pig, you don't eat him all at once.
I don't think that "he" is a "he", but Strong Pig is instead a "she".

When they start getting children in the village that are born with missing appendages I guess it wont be as funny and amusing. Didnt anyone ask the question , why was this pig born with missing rear appendages?
Maybe it proves that smoking can cause birth defects? Seriously, it's not unusual for large litters to have defects - especially if there is poor diet. What is amazing is that the farmer allowed the little guy to live.
D. Appel, You're right...I was surprised that the farmer allowed the pig to live. In some areas she might have been considered bad luck or a sign from the devil. That the farmer is looking for someone to adopt the pig is a good sign.
I hope that some sanctuary or even a zoo will take Strong Pig. She will get nothing but bigger and will have more difficulty standing on those front legs...let alone dragging around a the bulk of a full grown pig's body.
Let's hope for the best...and a follow up story. I for one would like to know what happens to her.

Why doesn't one of those men make a harness and wheel contraption for his back end? He can then roll around. Poor little piggy.

Beijing's "Strong Pig" has learned to balance its over 66 pounds of pork on its two front legs and wobble around; while here in America, our own Georgia BOAR (Newt Gangrene) has yet to learn how to politically manage his "pork barrel" rhetorical hyperbole while wobbling around on the campaign trail.

Good for this Farmer he has a Brain at least he's looking for someone who will adopt it and give it a Home,instead of killing it!
That poor piggie..I know her front arms are already developing arthritis from straining to hoof up her torso and then walk..You can see how this tires her out quickly..I agree..why can they create a cart with wheels? Need to introduce that before she gets to set her her ways..But am grateful they didn't kill her considering this is China..
That, my friends, is the difference between the U.S. and China. We have people ingenious enough to suggest wheels for the pig.
The wheel was invented in Asia. The farmer is probably too poor to buy or manufacture a cart for the piggy. He's a hog farmer. I'm happy he's decided to try to find a good home for it. We have dogs here who are euthanized for having two legs and there's at least dog who walks on two legs without a cart.
They eat dog as well..
Maybe it's a reincarnation of "Pigsy" from "Journey to the West".
If he loses the other two legs, he'll be ground pork, har har har.

We have plenty of two legged pigs here in the US.
The media has been censoring out all that negative stuff including the poor, hungry and homeless here in the U.S. so they get it from China who owns the world media now.. Remember Obama wants all of us to have health care not food clothes and homes.. Besides you would not want reality to interfere with the politicians trying to get elected would you.. Just think if they had to justify the rapeing of our economy and the poor people it has created for the sake of fattening up their wallets..
I fear that as Strong Pig gets larger, she may no longer be able to walk this way.

I believe that a two legged pig will taste just like a four legged pig.
